What is Foley ?
It is just the opposite of using preproduced sounds , its handcraft , like painting . You have to use your hands , feet , the whole body , of course your inspiration in front of :
just a microphone, or few of them .
It depends what your skills and knowledge and of course approach is , what it is in the end . It may be an FX , a sound , a story , a person , a feeling , whatever it paints , it should always use the adequate colors to complete the full Picture , whatever is told .
foley for Film , Music or Sound in general , shows different approaches how foley could be used .
To create effects (FX), to substitute missing sounds , to tell a person or a feeling , a story , sometimes , often in animation , to create a whole world .
